Commercial Cabinet Specifications

Utilizing CNC technology, we are able to design and fabricate not only standard casework but any special cabinet, regardless of its size, shape or configuration, accurately and cost-efficiently. Although we can adhere to the Architectural Woodwork Specifications prescribed by design professionals, our firm’s specifications for our Standard Commercial Casework is as follows:

 

General

•    All Cabinets are to meet AWI Standards for Custom-grade as described in the Architectural Woodwork Standards Section 10. All Cabinets are to be of a frameless-construction (Type A), and have a Flush Overlay cabinet-door interface.

•    All Base & Tall Cabinets being installed by our firm to have Integrated Toe-kicks.

•    All HPDL & LPDL panels to be domestic and of Industrial-grade only.

 

Exposed Surfaces

•    All doors, drawer fronts and Open Cabinets’ parts are to be Vertical-grade High-pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL) of the client/design professional selection on ¾”- Particle Board. All grain-textured laminates are to be matched vertically.

•    All Wall-cabinets’ Upper Bottoms and Integrated Finished Ends are to be Vertical-grade High-pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL) of the client/design professional selection on ¾”- Particle Board, with White Cabinet Liner on the interior surface.

•    All visible edges to be edge-banded by an Edge-banding Machine with 0.5mm {0.02”} –thick PVC edge-banding to match selected laminate.  Non-visible edges to be edge-banded with 0.5mm {0.02”} –thick PVC edge-banding of available colors.

 

Semi-Exposed Surfaces


•    All Cabinet Parts are to be Low-pressure Decorative Laminate (White Melamine) on ¾”-thick Particle Board, including Backs.

•    Cabinet Bottoms, Tops, & Stretchers are to be doweled and glued to cabinet Wall Ends using a Boring-and-doweling machine and Case Clamp. All dowels to be spaced in increments of 32mm.

•    Cabinet Backs are to be plowed into the Cabinet Wall Ends and stapled @ 4” o.c. max. Furthermore, they are to be screwed on top & bottom @ 4” o.c. max.

•    All drawer parts are to be Low-pressure Decorative Laminate (White Melamine) on 5/8”-thick Particle Board w/1/4”-thick Bottoms. All visible edges to be edge-banded by an Edge-banding Machine with 0.5mm {0.02”} –thick White PVC edge-banding.

•    Drawer Ends are to be doweled & glued to Drawer sides using a Boring-and-doweling machine and Case Clamp. All dowels to be spaced in increments of 32mm.

•    Drawer Bottoms to be plowed into Drawer Sides & Drawer sub-front and stapled from below @ 4” o.c. max.

 

Hardware:


•    All drawer boxes to have Blum 230M Series ¾ Extension slides of specified length. All File-drawer and other heavy-duty drawers to have Knape & Vogt 8500 slides.

•    All Hinges to be Blum Clip Top 120°+ Expando Hinges

•    All Hinges Mounting Plates to be Blum Expando Cam Mounting Plate, Height: 0.

•    All Door & Drawer Fronts to be Wire Pulls 4” wide, w/1-1/4” Projection of specified finish.


Countertops

•    Countertops to be Horizontal-grade High-pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL) of the client/design professional selection on ¾”- Particle Board, with backing sheet. Backsplashes to be of the Wall-mounted type and to be included on all Wet areas and where specifically called out by the design professional.

•    All visible edges to be laminated at 1-1/2” high and are to be squared eased.

•    To be fabricated of the longest lengths available.

•    All corners to be mitered. All joints to be joined with draw-bolt-type mechanical fasteners from underneath.
